I wanted to deconstruct these flowers from the Montreal Botanical Gardens and turn them into something almost entirely abstract.

Here, the flow field that warps the sunflower is mirrored between the left and right halves, but the underlying photograph is not, creating a compelling tension between symmetry and asymmetry.

This print is executed as archival pigment print on fine-art paper. All prints are signed on the face and printed with a half inch border, so the size of the paper is 1" larger than the print on each dimension.
